In this quick guide, we will go through the steps required to
make sure your copy of VET Antivirus is running to it's full potential.
- Right-click on the blue VET Antivirus icon in the taskbar
on the bottom right of the screen, and click "About...".
Note: If the VET icon appears with a red cross (X)
through it, it means that VET Antivirus' Resident Protection is either turned
off or there are no virus definitions installed. If your VET
has this cross through it, continue through this guide and
it will explain the steps required to fix this problem.

- Through the VET status screen, VET summarizes everything
you need to know about its operation.

- Version: The actual product version of the VET software
you are using.
- Engine Version: The core version of the scanner itself.
The engine is updated when you update the product version.
- Update Version: This is the VET virus definition release
number.
- Update Date: The date the virus definitions were released.
This date is the most accurate way of knowing how up-to-date
your VET virus definitions.
- Customer Number: Your VET personal identification number.
This is the number required to access the VET online
updates.
- The bottom half of the VET status
screen notifies you of what VET is monitoring. There will be
either green ticks or red crosses next to the three monitoring
services telling you which ones are running.
